Stereo Superman started as a solo project of Akmal Ghazali, with his previous band, Afternoon Mute taking a hiatus after every member was graduating from college. With still lots of song in his collection (initially wrote for Afternoon Mute) , Akmal decided not to put all those songs to waste and started recording in his home bedroom and posting it up online using the alias Stereo Superman.

“Stereo Superman is kind of like a spawn of Afternoon Mute if you will. After I’m done with college, I realized how much I miss playing and making music, and the result of that is Stereo Superman”
